Both articles on these pages were written at the time of the opening of the new chapel in 1963.

The first article was written for the souvenir brochure of the opening of the new chapel by Fr. (later Canon) Joseph Maxwell, the Parish Priest of St. John's at the time.

The other article is a report from the local paper, the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald, and covers the opening of the new chapel in July 1963.
